Talented actor Randeep was born on August 20, 1976 in the Rohtak district of Haryana. He comes from an educated background with his father Dr. Ranbir Hooda being a surgeon, and his mother Asha Hooda as a social worker. He had started his acting in school productions at a very young age. He has one elder sister, Dr. Anjali Hooda Sangwan who is a US-Trained Obesity Medicine Specialist and a younger brother Sandeep Hooda who is a Software Engineer working in Singapore. His family wanted him to be a doctor but on the latter agreed with his acting profession.

As per the latest reports, Randeep Hooda has been signed to play Salman Khan's wrestling coach in the upcoming flick Sultan. Director Ali Abbas Zafar was searching for someone to play Salman's wrestling coach and the role needed someone who is tall with a good physique and persona. Salman felt that Randeep was apt for the role, and hence recommended his name. The team then approached Randeep and he agreed to come on board.
