Saif was born on 16 August 1970 as Sajid Ali Khan to Late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore. His father was the Nawab of 'Pataudi' and also the former captain of Indian cricket team. His mother is also an acclaimed Bollywood actress and the head of Indian Film Censorship Board. Saif has two sisters, Saba Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan who is an actress.
